All children, regardless of age, must have a passport and the travel documents required by the countries visited on an international itinerary.
Guests must present valid passports/travel documents proving citizenship, and visas when required.

To prevent international child abduction, many governments require documentary evidence of relationship and permission for the child's travel from the non-traveling parent(s) or legal guardian. Spirit Airlines advises parents/guardians to check with the respective governments for specific requirements.

Unaccompanied Minors:

  • Spirit Airlines does not offer Unaccompanied Minor service on international flights.
  • Children 14 years old and younger cannot travel alone on international flights. They must be accompanied by another guest who is at least 15 years old.

Accompanied Minors:
  • Children 14 years old and younger traveling internationally must have:
    1. A valid passport.
    2. Any travel documents required by the countries on the itinerary.
    3. Documentary evidence of relationship and permission for the child's travel from the parent(s) or legal guardian not present, as required by the countries on the international itinerary.
